Chances are you know someone who has fallen on the wrong side of the law. Since 1883, The Salvation Army in Canada has been a leader and innovator in the provision of programs and services that meet the needs of individuals involved in the Canadian criminal justice system.

From the court room to the prison cell to the community at large, The Salvation Army takes a four-pillar approach to corrections: chaplaincy, community residential facilities, restorative justice and community programs.

This short movie outlines The Salvation Army’s ministry in correctional and justice services.

  1. Pastor Phyllis says:

i just wanted to add that when I started to work for the Salvation Army Correctional Services in Halifax I just loved it and it gave me a chance to get my life on track after many years of addiction about 27 years I worked the first year every day as a volunteer and then was hired first as a court worker then parole supervisor. It was under Major Peckford and his dear wife and they taught me so much and I was able after getting a pardon with the Armys help to go back inside the correctional Center and minister Wow!! It was awesome to be able to do that .

I left the Army only because God called me to be a pastor and bible teacher and I found to do that I had to leave as my husband did not share that calling along with me However, I still have a place in my heart for the Army and do go to the seniors luncheon there when I am able to get out and my husband is Army and attends church there but his health is not good but God is helping us to cope with these health issues and I thank you for the help you gave to me during the years I was attending .I am praying for you all that God will continue to bless you and use you in this area and win many precious souls to Him as a result of your faithfulness and commitment.

    We serve am awesome God!
