Dear friends,

We greet you in the name of the Lord and continue to count it a privilege to be “partners in the gospel” with you (see Philippians 1:3-5).

With the conclusion of 100 Days of Unceasing Prayer and Shared Scripture quickly approaching, we want to extend a word of appreciation for your commitment to this journey. In our travels across the territory, many have shared their experiences with us, and we have been encouraged by them. More than a thousand people have been sharing in the praises, petitions and intercessory prayers of 100 ministry units from across Canada and Bermuda. Together we have taken them to the throne of grace in prayer and listened carefully for God’s voice as we have read his Word.

As we continue this journey of prayer and shared Scripture, we invite you to communicate your thoughts and reflections on what you have learned so far by answering three questions. Your feedback will be invaluable as we discern together what God has in store for our territory. We believe he will do “immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” (Ephesians 3:20).

Thank you for prayerfully considering your responses as you reflect on what you have read, heard and prayed about in these days.

May God bless you. May God bless his Army. May God bless Canada and Bermuda and bring blessing to the nations through The Salvation Army.

Yours in Christ,

Floyd and Tracey Tidd, Commissioners
Territorial Leaders, Canada and Bermuda

Day 70–March 10, 2020

Unceasing Prayer

Ministry Expression
Mississauga Temple Community Church, Mississauga, Ont.

God continues to speak through new people attending. We celebrate that our multicultural ministers have received the paperwork they need to be allowed to visit their home following a seven-year waiting period. Bibiana’s father died last January and she was unable to return to be with her mother at that time, but we are praising God that they have been there this past month.

Pray for the challenges we face as members of our corps have moved away from our area to find affordable housing. Also, with the average “regular” attendance being 1.2 times per month (according to Gallop statistics), it becomes very challenging financially. Add to that the “mega” church draw, and we are feeling the challenges.

Pray that we are a beacon in the community. Christ is the answer, but how do we communicate that? Mississauga is seeing more violence, so may we be a beacon of peace. May we speak into the lives of our daycare families, those who come to us for help through family services and the people in in our neighbourhood who need Christ.

Shared Scripture

Acts 1:1-11

What “convincing proofs” could you offer someone that Jesus is alive today? Do you believe Jesus will return to earth some day? Why does it matter?
