Toronto will be the location for The Salvation Army's International Conference of Leaders (ICL) 2012. The conference, to be held from July 7-14 under the leadership of General Linda Bond, takes as its theme the International Vision: One Army, One Mission, One Message.

The General explains: "The purpose of this ICL is for the leaders of the international Army to meet together to prayerfully and strategically consider the International Vision Plan [sar.my/one]. The mission priorities of this plan will form the basis of the presentations, focus group discussions and recommendations."

The General is asking Salvationists and friends around the world to pray for the ICL. "Pray for the conference as a whole, but pray also for each individual leader, for those who will be making presentations and for our discussions," she says. "We must seek the Lord's wisdom and guidance to move the Army forward as he desires."

The conference's 129 participants are the leaders of every Salvation Army territory and command, together with commissioners serving on International Headquarters and the USA national leaders. Sessions will be translated into Indonesian, French, Spanish and Korean.

Papers will be presented on subjects including:

Women, Ministry and Leadership
Self-Denial and Self Support
Teaching Resources
Youth and Children
Evangelism and Discipleship
Leadership
The Marginalized
Integrated Mission
