The Salvation Army - Salvationist.ca - Most Mizerable ChristmasFor years, the Miz has bullied his classmates on Wrescal Lane—including Sheamus, Wade and Natalya—yet somehow managed to stay on Santa's list.

But when a new kid moves into town, he shakes the foundation of Miz's selfish beliefs, and sets in motion a chain of events that results in Miz getting an attitude adjustment on Christmas Eve.

Will the new kid help everyone on Wrescal Lane enjoy the holidays while teaching Miz a lesson, or will it be A Most Mizerable Christmas for everyone?

Salutary Lesson
A Most Mizerable Christmas was penned by Mick Foley, the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar and Hall of Famer. Professional wrestling and writing might seem to be worlds apart, but Mick is a New York Times bestselling author with three other children's books to his credit.

Mick was inspired to write this book when his then-three-year-old son, Mickey, refused to ask Santa for any presents.

“Surely there's something you want,” Mick asked him.

“No, I have enough,” Mickey replied. That is what new kid C.M. Punk explains to the Miz when confronted with his own empty wish list.

“I'm a big fan of the man in red,” C.M. Punk says. “I know Santa's job is rough. Many children need those toys, but for me, I've got enough.”

Do we really need all those gifts under the tree, especially when so many have so little? In a consumer-crazy world such as ours, this is a salutary lesson we all need to remember.

Making Time to Read
You don't have to be a professional-wrestling fan to enjoy the book, though it helps. All the characters are based on wrestlers on the WWE roster but the book can be enjoyed purely on its own terms.

At its heart, A Most Mizerable Christmas is about the dangers of selfishness, the joys of selflessness, and what we can all do to make Christmas a happier time for everyone.
