The Salvation Army's annual International Day of Prayer for Children for 2014 will take place on Sunday, March 30. Salvation Army corps and centres around the globe are encouraged to place the world's children before God in focused prayer, acknowledging that they are precious in the sight of God.

The Bible verse chosen for the 2014 International Day of Prayer features Jesus' words: "Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me" (Mark 9:37 NIV).

A poster created by Communications Section designer Berni Georges can be downloaded from sar.my/dopchildren2014. Posters are available in English, French and Spanish – along with a text-free version of the image so that people can create posters in their local language. The poster includes a challenging reminder from General André Cox that "our young people are not just a hope for the future, but they are our hope now in the world."

The webpage also includes information and statistics about issues facing children today, along with discussion starter questions and prayers.
