Each year, on the last Saturday of March at the same time according to time zone, the lights turn off. For one hour people all around the world do their part to make a huge difference.
This year, during our one hour black-out, Canadians are asked to take a moment to reflect on ways they can fight against climate change. By reducing greenhouse gases like nitrous oxide and methane, this will significantly make a difference in the earth's temperature. Have you wondered why Spring has taken so long to get here? Why the snow still flies? Climate change is that reason.

We appreciate your support! Earth Hour is extremely important and has been embraced by The Salvation Army for many years. At Territorial Headquarters, our lights were turned off for the full hour from 8:30-9:30 on Saturday evening and we encouraged all Salvation Army buildings and Corps to turn off theirs.
It is a blessing that your daughter has knowledge in Earth Hour and really feels it's importance to conserve as much as we can.
