"Australia One"the process by which The Salvation Army's two Australian territories will be amalgamated to become onebegan on June 1, 2016. A video message from the new Australian national leaders, Commissioners Floyd and Tracey Tidd, invites Salvationists across Australia to listen to what God is saying, as the first national initiativea 100-day period of ceaseless prayeralso gets underway.

"Australia One is about greater impact," explains Commissioner Floyd Tidd, national commander. "Greater impact in the lives of vulnerable and suffering Australians. Greater impact in solving the issues that keep people trapped in poverty, homelessness and addiction. Greater impact in communicating the message of Jesus. Greater impact in seeing the will of God done on earth as it is in Heaven."

Commissioner Tracey Tidd, national president of women's ministries, emphasizes the "tremendous opportunity to strengthen our frontline mission."

She believes that "the best days of The Salvation Army in Australia lie ahead and we are convinced that as we work together we can realize our full potential, fulfilling the purpose God has in mind for The Salvation Army in accomplishing his mission in Australia."

Asserting the importance of prayer to The Salvation Army during the time of transition, Commissioner Floyd Tidd tells viewers: "Foundationally, we are inviting you to become involved in prayernot only for Australia One, but for all the work of The Salvation Army currently taking place daily across Australia." To this end, a range of resources has been produced to support the 100 Days of Ceaseless Prayer initiative, including children's activities and daily devotionals written by Salvationists, leaders and people of influence.

Amanda Merrett, Australia One's 100 Days Coordinator, begins the prayer wave with a focus on Bible verses from Paul's letter to the Romans: "Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out" (Romans 12:2 The Message). She poses the challenge: "Can you find time this week to imagine what your community would look like if the kingdom of God was flourishing?"

Salvationists and friends in Australia and around the world can see the commissioners' video message, find out more and unite in prayer through social media (look for the #TSA100Days hashtag) and via the special website at http://resources.australiaone.info/.
