Local Food Infrastructure Fund

Integrated MissionPrevious Grant

The Government of Canada has announced a new phase of the Local Food Infrastructure Fund (LFIF) is now open, with $10 million contributed from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. This funding supports community-based and not-for-profit organizations in their efforts to create long-term solutions to address food security challenges.

Ministry units are encouraged to apply for this opportunity as soon as possible. Application for submission is open until May 31, 2023.

This new phase of LFIF will provide rapid-response funding in the range of $15,000 to $120,000 per project to help improve food security in communities through investments in equipment and infrastructure. Project impacts must be targeted and immediate and must be directly related to addressing food security and increasing the accessibility of healthy, nutritious foods within communities.
