Calling the Courageous - Soldiership Campaign
The following resources are designed to be used in congregational ministry to promote and encourage membership as Soldiers of The Salvation Army. These can be used once a month, and some are designed to align with seasonal events.
TURN THE WORLD UPSIDE DOWN (Best in December)
This Advent season, soldiers—indeed all Salvationists—are challenged to turn their world upside-down, starting with their own routine at home and in their neighbourhood during December.

BE MOVED WITH COMPASSION
Calling the Courageous...to be moved with compassion (bulletin insert)
Consider showing this series of videos each week throughout your kettle season to challenge soldiers and your congregation to be moved with compassion for those in need this Christmas season. Soldiers have committed to "be faithful to the purposes for which God raised up The Salvation Army, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, endeavouring to win others to Him, and in His name caring for the needy and the disadvantaged." Encouraging them to get involved, not simply as someone to fill a kettle spot, but as an act of compassion for the sake of others, is just one practical way they can put action to their covenant during this season.
TO TELL WHAT GOD HAS DONE
Every Salvationist [soldier] is committed to evangelism—the promises he/she makes spell that out. Whatever the activity, bringing people to God is the ultimate aim, and we assess our success or failure rate finally according to the extent to which this aim is realized. And yet, when it is the final goal of all, are there any for whom it is the immediate task and ambition?

TO SELF DENIAL
Self Denial (now Partners in Mission) has been a significant part of the Salvation Army calendar almost since its inception. Generally close to Lent, Salvationists are encouraged to sacrifice something they have....and give the money to international missions.
Here is a Bulletin Insert with a 28 day challenge for giving.
