International Appointments and Promotions

Here are the latest international appointments and promotions announced by International Headquarters, including the new chief secretary for the Canada and Bermuda Territory.

The following international appointments and promotions have been decided by the General:

EFFECTIVE 1 APRIL 2013

COMMISSIONER WILLIAM COCHRANE, an officer of the United Kingdom Territory with the Republic of Ireland, currently serving at International Headquarters as International Secretary to the Chief of the Staff, is appointed additionally as Secretary for International Ecumenical Relations.

Appointments rescinded
It should be noted that the appointments for Lieut-Colonels Daniel and Rebecca Sjogren in the Sweden and Latvia Territory, as announced on 2 October 2012 and scheduled to take effect on 1 February 2013, have been rescinded.

EFFECTIVE 1 MAY 2013

MAJORS PETTER AND EIJA KORNILOW, officers of the Finland and Estonia Territory, currently serving respectively as Section Head for Programme and Section Head for Communications in that territory, are appointed respectively as Chief Secretary and Territorial Secretary for Women’s Ministries, Finland and Estonia Territory. They will take up their appointment responsibilities with promotion to the rank of lieutenant-colonel. They succeed Lieut-Colonel Arja Laukkanen who is entering retirement.

EFFECTIVE 1 JUNE 2013

COMMISSIONERS RAYMOND AND AYLENE FINGER, officers of the Australia Southern Territory, currently serving as territorial leaders in that territory, are appointed to International Headquarters. Commissioner Raymond Finger is appointed as International Secretary for the South Pacific and East Asia, and Commissioner Aylene Finger as Zonal Secretary for Women’s Ministries – South Pacific and East Asia.

COLONELS FLOYD AND TRACEY TIDD, officers of the Canada and Bermuda Territory currently serving respectively as Chief Secretary and Territorial Secretary for Women’s Ministries in that territory, are appointed as territorial leaders of the Australia Southern Territory. Colonel Floyd Tidd is appointed as Territorial Commander, Australia Southern Territory and Colonel Tracey Tidd as Territorial President of Women’s Ministries. They will take up their new appointment responsibilities with the rank of commissioner – Colonel Floyd Tidd on 1 June 2013 and Colonel Tracey Tidd on 2 June 2013.

LIEUT-COLONELS MARK AND SHARON TILLSLEY, officers of the USA Eastern Territory currently serving respectively as Secretary for Personnel and Assistant Medical Consultant (Officers) in that territory, are appointed respectively as Chief Secretary and Territorial Secretary for Women’s Ministries, Canada and Bermuda Territory. They will take up their appointment responsibilities with promotion to the rank of colonel.

COMMISSIONERS ALISTAIR AND ASTRID HERRING, officers of the New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga Territory currently serving respectively as International Secretary for the South Pacific and East Asia and Zonal Secretary for Women’s Ministries – South Pacific and East Asia, are appointed as territorial leaders of the Pakistan Territory. Commissioner Alistair Herring is appointed as Territorial Commander, Pakistan Territory, and Commissioner Astrid Herring as Territorial President of Women’s Ministries. They succeed Colonels Robert and Marguerite Ward who are entering retirement.
