I am among you as one who serves.

What does this mean for me in my modern world?
Where's my Gethsemane, my Calv'ry road?
My marks of submission to God?
They're found in obedience to His love’s demands;
They're found in a willingness to forego my plans
And live without counting the cost.

Words that constrain me,

To work untiringly with no reward
Save that of knowing

Gone are the basins, the towels of old,
What truth do these symbols still hold?
They speak of humility, compassion and care.
They speak of ability the Good News to share
With those who are lonely and lost
