0 Lord, our work for you begins with faithfulness in prayer.
You live in the holy place and we will go to find you there.
In you we have our being, in you we live.
In you we find the grace and the strength you long to give.

Lord, prepare our willing hearts for the work of intercession.
Heaven's hope is within our grasp and by faith we take possession.
Those who knock shall open, those who ask are given;
We will battle in prayer till the fight is won.
In the name of the Saviour we will seek God's favour
For the sake of the Son it is done.

When we feel the task is great and we don't even know the words to say,
Then the Holy Spirit comes and he directs us in his gentle way,
Sends his groanings unexpressed, wordless longings to be blessed;
So let us come in faith to learn how to pray.

And we will pray on oppose wrong, we're ready to do and to dare.
We may not see his work, but he is always there.
He knows our worst foes and he will make us strong.
One day our faithful prayers will turn into joyful song.

We'll pray on through the sadness, pray with hearts of gladness,
For the Father in love will not turn away;
Pray on when the heart aches, pray until the dawn breaks,
Till the Kingdom announces its brightest day!

We offer our willing hearts with gratitude incessantly,
To turn the tide of grace and open up his treasury.
Strongholds of evil broken, sin loses its pow'r
When we are faithful warriors praying ev'ry hour.

Lord, we give our willing hearts for the work of intercession.

Ever interceding, for the battle pleading,
We'll continue in prayer till the fight is won.
