COLONEL ARTHUR WATERS

Colonel Waters was born in Sault Ste. Marie of Officer parents. He entered the College for Officer Training in 1952 as part of the Herald Session and commissioned in 1953 from the Kingston Corps, ON.

Following commissioning, he was appointed to the North Winnipeg Corps.

As a married couple they served as Corps Officers at Weston (Winnipeg) and Hillhurst (Calgary) before they were appointed as Divisional Youth Secretary for the Manitoba N.W. Ontario Division. This was followed by further terms as Youth Secretary in the New Brunswick and Ontario Divisions. 

In 1966 The Colonel assumed command of Hamilton Temple and in 1969 Scarborough Citadel Corps. An appointment in 1974 as Divisional Officer for Eastern Newfoundland was followed two years later by responsibility as Divisional Commander for the same Division.

From 1983 to 1985 Colonel Waters was Assistant Field Secretary for Church Growth. After this he was appointed Field Secretary for the territory and in 1986 assumed responsibility as Field Secretary for Personnel.

Colonel Waters was appointed Chief Secretary for Canada and Bermuda on April 1, 1987

 

He married Margaret Eastland while at college and was married in 1955. Margaret was out of the Niagara Falls Corps, On. Her first appointment after commissioning was the Woodbine (Toronto) Corps.
