COLONEL EVIE DIAZ
Evie is an officer of the USA Central Territory. She comes from a Salvation Army family—my parents were corps officers. At a young age that was where my path would lead. I have a sister and a brother who are both in ministry in The Salvation Army.
I made my own decision to join the church as a teenager. I worked at camp—a lot of young people work at camp and find their calling there, either to The Salvation Army or another kind of ministry.
Colonel attended Olivet Nazarene University and went right from college to attend the officer training college.
During her tenure as an officer, Colonel Diaz has had a variety of different appointments in the USA Central Territory and previously worked at The Salvation Army College for Officer Training in Chicago. She has also served in various Midwest appointments in Wisconsin and Michigan as well as a three-year term in the Northern European country of Latvia. She has held positions of leadership as Divisional Commander for the Heartland Division, headquartered in Peoria. Illinois.
On October 1, 2014, Major Evie Diaz was appointed Divisional Commander and Director of Women’s Ministries Kansas and Western Missouri Division. Then she was appointed as the Chief Secretary, International Headquarters.
On May 1, 2021 Colonel Diaz become the Chief Secretary for the Canada and Bermuda Territory.
As an ordained minister with The Salvation Army, Colonel Diaz has a strong interest in urban and multi-ethnic ministry and Christian community development.
