COLONEL HARRY READ

Colonel Harry Read entered the training college from Edinburgh Gorgie and was commissioned in 1948. Two years later he married Winifred Humphries from Mexborough who had also been commissioned in 1948. Together they served in a variety of corps and divisional appointments. Then came several appointments at the International Training College. In 1_972 Colonel Read was appointed director of Information Services at International Headquarters, and three years later became divisional commander for the Nottingham Division. He took up his appointment as principal of the International Training College in 1978

On August 1, 1981 Colonel Read  became Chief Secretary.
