COLONEL STANLEY WALTER
Colonel Stan Walter was born in Sarnia, ON., into a Salvationist family of five boys and one girl.
Stan graduated from the University of Western Ontario and worked with Imperial Oli in Calgary before entering the College for Officer Training in Toronto in 1954 with his wife Alison (nee Harewood).
Their first appointment was the Oakville Corps. In 1959, after Stan received his Bachelor of Education degree, they were appointed to Mazowe Boys Secondary School in Zimbabwe. After severing as Headmaster there, he was transferred to Kolanya Boys Secondary School in Kenya.
Returning to Canada, they served on the training college staff and in divisional appointments before being sent to Alberta where Stan was the Divisional Commander. In 1977 he was again asked to go to Africa as Chief Secretary for the East Africa Territory, which headquarters in Nairobi.
Returning to Canada in 1982, Stam became Field Secretary and then on May 1, 1984accepted responsibility as Chief Secretary for the Canada and Bermuda Territory.
