Auxiliary Lieutenant - 2020 to Present

The rank of Auxiliary Lieutenant is one of a noncommissioned Officer.

The trim of an Auxiliary Lieutenant consists of the words THE SALVATION ARMY embroidered on the middle of the epaulet using the same style as the Red Shield. The words CANADA & BERMUDA are placed horizontally across at the widest part of a plain black epaulet.

An Auxiliary Lieutenant wears blue ceramic soldiers’ pins on each of the collar of their tunic.

The auxiliary-lieutenant program is a three-year spiritual ministry leadership appointment program designed for Salvationists seeking a full-time, short-term ministry opportunity.  In most cases, the ministry appointment will be to the role of corps officer.  The auxiliary-lieutenant program will offer practical mission and ministry experience, which may lead the applicant to consider and confirm a calling to officership.
