Brigadier - 1930 to 1974

In 1889, came the news that Major George A Kilbey had become a Brigadier with oversight of all operations in the colony of New South Whales.

Officers of outstanding ability and holding important positions may be promoted to the rank of Brigadier.1

As of 1930, the rank of Brigadier consisted of a black braid which encircles a red epaulet with a silver crest and two silver stars above the crest.

The high collar would consist of a red patch five inches long with a point at each end with a silver crest in the center of the patch. The epaulet would hold two silver stars alone.

The low collar would consist of two silver "S”’s on two small patches which are placed on each lapel of the tunic. There was no sleeve trimming with this rank.

The rank of Brigadier became obsolete sometime in the 1974.
