Senior Captain - 1948 to 1959

After completing eight years as a Captain, the Officer is promoted to the rank of Senior-Captain.1 On May 1, 1948, this new rank replaced that of Adjutant.

The rank of Senior-Captain consisted of a black braid which encircles a red epaulet with three silver stars.

The high collar would consist of a red patch five inches long with a point at each end with a silver “S” in the center of the patch.

The low collar would consist of two silver "S”’s on two small patches which are placed on each lapel of the tunic. There was no sleeve trimming with this rank.

The duration of the rank of Senior-Captain is seven years at which time the Officer would be promoted to Major.1

The rank of Senior Major became obsolete sometime on October 1, 1959.
