New Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Website Coming Soon

The Salvation Army offers support such as housing, medical, and social services to those victimized and vulnerable to being exploited/victimized through human trafficking, also known as modern day slavery.

Despite often being perceived as a problem of the past or an issue that does not affect Canadians, slavery does exist in the 21st Century and affects our society’s most vulnerable citizens. It is often those suffering from poverty who fall prey and are most vulnerable to this extreme form of exploitation.

The Salvation Army offers a broad range of services in various locations to help bring awareness and prevention of human trafficking and also assist those affected. The majority of trafficked persons that the Salvation Army encounters are those exploited through the illegal sex industry, with women and girls of all ages and who are forced or coerced into or by means of prostitution by traffickers.
