COLONEL GEORGE MacKENZIE

In 1890 George Mackenzie crossed paths with the Salvation Army in Whitechapel, and there took up with the Army for three years assisting in the war at a London Corps.

Following he became private secretary to Staff Captain Boon who was the Field Secretary at International Headquarters.

Shortly after he was promoted to the rank of Staff-Captain and given the position of Aide de Camp (ADC) in the London Division.

Following Major Mackenzie was appointed to youth work in the London Division.

Major Mackenzie was then appointed Field Secretary to Great Britain with the rank of Brigadier.

On July 7, 1892 Mackenzie was appointed as Chief Secretary to the Canada Territory with the rank of Colonel.

Elizabeth Ann Mackenzie (nee Rumsby) became an Officer in 1884 and was stationed at various Corps in London.  She met George while he was in London appointed to conduct youth work there. On May 19th, 1887 she married George in the Clapton Congress Hall.
