Applied Leadership Programs

These self-directed programs are foundational to leadership development in The Salvation Army and are widely accessible to employees across the territory. Participants must have their supervisor’s approval to apply.

LEADS Applied Leadership Certification

This two-day, interactive learning series that focuses on applying the LEADS framework to mission-driven leadership. Offered in each division at least once every other year. See our program calendar for more information.

Eligibility: Participants must be in a people leadership role and have their supervisor’s approval to apply for this program.

Prerequisite: Applicants must have completed or be actively enrolled in the Foundational Leadership Certification.

Next Steps: Graduates are eligible to apply for the Emerging Leaders Leadership Certification.

Emerging Leaders

This dynamic, 18-month leadership development experience is designed to equip officers and employees with the skills, confidence and network to lead effectively. Grounded in the LEADS leadership framework and aligned with The Salvation Army’s mission, the program fosters leadership growth through peer collaboration, applied learning and structured feedback.
