Educational Tours for Active Officers

It is The Salvation Army's policy that following the completion of 12 years of service, officers will be offered the opportunity to participate in educational tours. Educational tours will normally be offered every two years.

The purposes of educational tours are:

  • Provide Education
  • Honour service given
  • Develop an awareness of the roots of our faith
  • Enrich the officer's personal spiritual life
  • Enhance ministry

Officers interested in participating in an educational tour are required to submit an application (FRM Application Educational Tour) to the officer personnel department approximately 18 months before the tour start date.

Officers must have the endorsement of their divisional commander/department head or Cabinet representative as part of the application process.

Note: All officers are required to personally pay a portion of tour costs. The personal cost is set each year.

Interested officers must discuss with their Divisional Commander. More information is available through the Officer Personnel Department and in policy HR 09.040
