I have been at New Addington Salvation Army (more commonly known as NASA) for most of my life and I have had some amazing opportunities through the church. I am part of the NASA youth band where I sing and play keys. While the youth band are now all over age 18, and often away at university, we always come back and play together if we are home on a Sunday morning. I have also been involved in worship teams whenever I have been on staff for divisional Easter or summer camps over the last few years. Bringing worship music to the children we see at camp year after year is such a joy and I am so grateful to help facilitate their journey with God. I am now 21 and I’m doing a postgraduate certificate in education (PGCE) to become a secondary school geography teacher. I would love to continue doing some music with students in the future as well!

We Have Faith

I wrote this song this summer whilst at TMS 2024. I took part in a songwriting stream where we were challenged to write a congregational song from scratch, so I gave it a go! During the week, I had heard a reference to Hebrews 11:1 (ESV) and found it really spoke to me; “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” I focused on that verse and what it really meant to me and how, in a stage of life where I don’t quite know what’s coming, I need to continue to trust God to guide me. The bridge is also a real reminder for me that I take into every single day - that we don’t do anything alone. I believe this is something to remember wherever we are in our lives, and so it was a message I felt worth sharing through this song.
