Probationary Captain - 1910 to 1930's

The Probationary Captain would adhere to the regulations in the same way as a Probationary Lieutenant. The rank of Probationary Captain was given to married Cadet only.

The trim of the Probationary Captain consists of one thin red braid on each edge of a black braid which encircles a black epaulet.

The high collar would consist of a red patch with a red “S” with gold trim. The sleeve trimming would have one row of red braid around the cuff.

An officer must complete “two year’s service as Probationary Captain and complete Lessons, before promotion to (full) Captain.”1
