Christ calls for soldiers to wage His war in the midst of an alien
world;
He has lifted the banner of truth on high which never shall be
furled.
He has called us to fight in His army to forward the cause of
the cross-
And bravely to stand in the Gospel's defence whatever our
suff'ring and loss.

We are set for the Gospel's defence -
Andin nothing shall be ashamed;
With boldness shall Christ be magnified
Wherever our cause is named.

And whether it be by our life or death,
In confidence we shall abide,
For to us to live in Christ, is Christ,
And if we die He is glorified.
Defenders of the Faith! Defenders of the Faith!

Called to deliver the slaves of sin from the chains of satanic
might,
Thro' the darkest, vilest haunts we march to claim each suff'rer's
right.
For the souls Jesus died to deliver - must know they've a right
to be freed-
And till we can bring them from bondage to peace our lives we
must hazard indeed.

Banded as one, in the Faith's defense we will strive in the Spirit's
might,
Our rejoicing abundant in Jesus Christ equipped by Him to
fight.
We shall not fear His hardest opponents nor ever His cause will
forsake-
To us it is giv'n on His Name to believe and suff'ring to fear
