Sessional Song

Chosen by the Lord to be an Evangelist,
Chosen by the Lord to be an Evangelist,
An Evangelist, God's Evangelist that men may understand the gospel
Chosen by the Lord, Chosen by the Lord to be an Evangelist.

In vain men search for a living way,
For a way of light and peace
Since the way they try fails to satisfy, or bring them joy and soul release.
See thy look in vain for a comforter or a place to bring their woe.
These the ones we seek, of the Christ to speak,
As Evangelists ever should do.

'Tis joy to be an Evangelist,
This the greatest task of all;
Precious tidings bring and of Jesu sing. proclaim good news, on sinners call.
Where· the darkness reigns spreading the gospel light,
Tell again Salvation’s plan; Jesus died to save and His life He gave
That the world may know blessing again.

How can we reach them? How can we teach them?
Men who ha e scorn · d and derided thy name:
Grant u compassion be Thou our Guide;
Lord we would lead them to Thy bleeding side -
To the Christ who died.

Called and chosen by the Lord to do the blessed work,
The work of an Evangelist, I An Evangelist for God.
