In the Vanguard of our Army brave, men of faith encountered the foe,
With a dauntless will and a Holy skill, bravely fought for evil's overthrow;
Mighty faith achieved the impossible,
Out of weakness they were made strong;
We have Joined in that band of the faithful,
We're a part of that glorious throng.

Lord, in that hour when the foe would press,
True and faithful I would be,
Tho' dark the night, faith is better than sight,
Faith sees the way tho' there be no light.
