Lts April Barthau & Marco Herrera-Lopizic - serving as Territorial Development Officer & Social Justice Officer (April) and Territorial Director for Health Services & Associate Development Officer (Marco) in the Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands Territory

  • For our family as we prepare to transition in June this year, for God to prepare a new home and friends for our children.
  • For Marco and I to have the endurance in implementing key 2025 activities and wisdom as we continue to mentor the Officers and staff that will continue in God's ministry in the health, development, and social justice areas of the PNGSI Territory.
  • For God’s precious creation to choose to turn to God, to live in peace, and to grow deeper in relationship with our Lord.

Lt.-Colonels David & Marsha-Jean Bowles - serving as the Corps Officers of the Berlin South-West Corps in the Germany, Lithuania & Poland Territory.

  • Healing for our son Luke; thanks to God for the Church family who are praying and supporting and for the positive change we are seeing; for our family as we each cope with his illness individually.
  • Transition - as Marsha prepares for her new appointment as Assistant Secretary for Programme - Corps and Chaplaincy, and David as Corps Officer of the Leipzig Corps as of August 1, 2025

Lt.-Colonels Brenda & Shawn Critch - serving in the Zambia Territory as Spiritual Life Development Secretary (Primary), Mission Support and Emergency Officer (Additional) (Brenda) and Secretary for Business Administrator (Shawn)

  • Pray for wisdom and direction as Brenda seeks to support further spiritual growth and deeper transformation in the lives of officers and Salvationists in Zambia.
  • Shawn asks for a prayer for wisdom. Wisdom to lead the business team toward operational effectiveness. Wisdom to influence good planning and governance.  Wisdom to formulate the right recommendations to the Territorial Management Board that will strengthen financial stability and sustainability.  "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him." (James 1:5)   
  • Pray that our mission support and emergency projects will bring a better quality of life to officers, enhance the mission of the Army, and help diminish human suffering in Zambia.
  • Pray our ministry in Zambia will bear much fruit and that we will experience strength, resilience, joy, and transformation as we seek to be faithful to God's call in a different culture with different challenges.
  • Pray for ministry faithfulness. Faithfulness to lead, serve and support the mission of the Church in Zambia in transformative ways.
  • Pray for good health, personal safety, and our son, Jacob, in Alberta.

  • God’s wisdom and direction as Territorial Governance is implemented.

Major Wendy Mouland – Private Secretary to the Chief of the Staff, IHQ

  • Love Jesus supremely all my days
  • Live to win souls and make their salvation the first purpose of my life
  • Care for the poor, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, love the unloved, and befriend those who have no friends
  • Maintain the doctrines and principles of The Salvation Army and, by God’s grace, prove myself a worthy officer

Lt.-Colonel Elizabeth Nelson - serving as the Territorial Commander of the Bangladesh Territory

  • For the spiritual health of our officers and soldiers
  • Praise for Jessica and Jahred Warkentin arriving and settling in.
  • For the personnel issues and needs the territory is facing.
  • For the Lord's wisdom and guidance as we work through strategic plans, new software changes, and development strategies for the Territory.
  • For the political stability of the country.

Majors Kelly and Paul Rideout – serving as Spiritual Formation Coordinator (Kelly) and Training Principal (Paul) – Training College – Tanzania Territory

  • We thank God for His faithfulness to us and the deep sense of His peace.
  • We thank God for our family and the ability to connect through technology.
  • We thank God for people who hug our children in our absence and pray for us.
  • We thank God for a great session of 22 Keepers of the Covenant.
  • We thank God for translators who help us to understand and help us to be understood.

Our prayer request is for strength and health for us and the officers and cadets. 

  • Pray for Officer's that have recently left OTC and for those who have joined us.
  • Pray for our (staff and cadets) growth and development in our relationship with God
  • We pray for resource to help in the officers training program.

Majors Donna and Royal Senter – Corps Officers, Freeport, Grand Bahama – Caribbean Territory

  • God's guidance, wisdom, and strength to lead effectively in this new appointment.
  • God will open doors for ministry and to have a positive impact on the lives of the people in Freeport bringing healing, hope, and restoration.
  • A spirit of humility, a willingness to serve others, and a heart that prioritizes the needs of the ministry “The Lord your God is with you; his power gives you victory. The Lord will take delight in you, and in his love he will give you new life. He will sing and be joyful over you.” (Zephaniah 3:17)

Please remember Wendy as she grieves the loss of her husband Ian. Please also remember Jason and Brianna, their children as well as Ian’s mom Major Jeanne Swan (Rtd) and extended family.

Days into our May homeland furlough Ian experienced a hemorrhagic stroke affecting the right side of his body.  We are deeply grateful for the excellent care and therapy given in the Toronto Rehabilitation University Centre.  Excellent progress is being made with regard to his right arm and leg.  Giving thanks to God for his faithfulness and provision in both the big and small.  Grateful too for the many prayers around the world that surround Ian’s recovery. 

Alyshia Van Kannel - Director of Schools (Early Education & Literacy) in the Papua New Guinea & Solomon Islands Territory.

  • The transition of all our elementary schools under the new government restructure
  • The access and quality of education to increase across PNG & Solomon Islands, starting in our own informal and formal learning spaces
  • For officers, staff, and volunteers to receive renewed joy and unity in serving others in Jesus’ name
