Mental Health First Aid training opportunity. Learn how to respond to a mental health crisis.

Mental Health First Aid Classes

One in five Canadians experiences a mental health problem or crisis every year. If this happened to a client, a colleague or a member of your corps, would you know how to help?

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training provides you with the tools and knowledge you need to support someone in a mental health crisis until professional assistance arrives.

The Salvation Army is partnering with the Mental Health Commission to offer courses to all employees.

Don’t miss this chance to gain valuable skills to help you support people in need.

Course description:
Course participants learn how to recognize signs a person may be experiencing a decline in their mental well-being or a mental health crisis, while gaining necessary tools for providing support until help arrives. Training also includes guidance with assisting in a substance use incident and using Mental Health First Aid actions to maintain one’s own mental well-being.
