Scripture often instructs us to sing. Sing in praise to God, to learn scripture, to build up others and to wage war against sin.
Science has proven that singing helps reduce stress, depression and anxiety. It can also decrease blood pressure, increase our immunity and helps our memory.
Singing together builds a sense of belonging and boosts self-esteem.
Singing together can also increase altruism where people become more generous as they become more aware of our shared humanity.
The Music and Gospel Arts Department hopes the Everybody Sings initiative will aim to encourage all of us to be singing in our Salvation Army context.
