Salvation Army leaders from all of Africa assembled in Maputo, the capital city of Mozambique, for the Africa Zonal Conference to capture General Linda Bond's vision for the future of the Salvation Army as well as to share with her the African perspective.
Preceding the conference the General inaugurated Maxixe Corps hall, which is situated in a complex that will house the South Divisional Headquarters of this new territory. The other leaders were divided into groups to visit corps in the Maputo Capital Division.
This beginning set the tone for the discussions that were to take place during the conference, where the fundamentals and essentials of the Salvation Army were studied, debated and strengthened.
At departure all left to their different countries energised by what the Lord had done during the week, and by the Mozambican hospitality.
In 2021, we launched a new chapter, mobilizing under a new vision with a 10-year horizon and a strategy to guide us toward that future. Today, halfway through the journey, it’s time to pause, reflect and refresh around what matters most—and move forward together.
At the Chilibre Corps in Panama, the youth program nurtures children and teens as they grow in faith, character, and service. Younger kids learn Bible verses, life skills, and simple ways to help others, while older youth take on leadership roles—supporting the younger ones, learning to lead meetings, playing instruments, and strengthening their walk with God.
