The Salvation Army’s homeless shelter in Courtenay, B.C., reopened in December after extensive renovations that will help the Army better serve the community.

The City of Winnipeg’s Access Advisory Committee presented Booth University College with an Access Award—Circle of Excellence following various renovations to the campus.

Thousands of children will have a brighter Christmas this year, thanks to The Salvation Army's annual Toy Mountain campaign. In partnership with CTV, the Army has begun collecting toys in eight cities across Canada and will continue to do so until December 20.

The 2017 International Conference of Leaders concluded with a meeting in which Commissioner Silvia Cox invited everyone to rejoice following a week of meetings attended by Salvation Army leaders from around the world.

Following the shooting at a church service in Sutherland Springs, Texas, in which 26 people were killed, The Salvation Army dispatched officers and staff from nearby San Antonio. The team was able to provide much-needed practical, emotional and spiritual support to the community, which was rocked by the sudden and violent loss of life.
