The Salvation Army is active in more than 130 countries worldwide. With such a wide scope of ministry, there are many service opportunities for both officers and lay personnel interested in serving overseas. The Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador is thanking The Salvation Army for "the outpouring of support" to the province during the coronavirus pandemic. This includes an operation serving hot meals to truckers in Port aux Basques, Newfoundland.

The Salvation Army is grateful to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Government of Canada for $5 million in funding as part of a $100 million investment to help organizations improve access to food for Canadians facing social, economic, and health impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
