The Salvation Army in Canada and Bermuda has been on a journey of transformation. To fulfill our mission, over 3,000 people connected to our Army helped form a vision that marks the destination for our movement:
"We are an innovative partner, mobilized to share hope wherever there is hardship, building communities that are just and know the love of Jesus."
As with any journey toward a destination, it's necessary to follow a road map that gives direction. Our road map is strategy. In order to achieve our territorial vision, we knew that we needed a vision-aligned strategic plan that details how to get there.
More than 120 people spoke into the strategy development. Together, we shared, pondered, dreamed, asked questions, and prayed over our territory. It was evident that God was preparing the way and leading as we took each step.
In August, 2021, the strategic plan was announced, including additional background, development of the territorial strategy, and how it will be brought to life. The announcement, along with a set of frequently asked questions and a glossary of terms, which give context to some of the language used in the strategy, can be linked to on the righthand side of this page.
Our prayer is that this strategic plan will set new directions as we continue to follow the lead of our God who is doing a new thing.
The territorial strategy will run until March 2025, when the next major iteration will be developed. Before then, though, many of the strategic initiatives will be complete, and others will be added when needed. Click here to learn more about the roadmap of the territorial strategy.
