Unceasing Prayer
Ministry Expression
Cariboo Hill Temple, Burnaby, B.C.
Praise
Our church is learning to lean into the Spirit’s power for ministry by discovering how he gifts the body to work in unity for mission. This was displayed at our Christmas community dinner where administrators, evangelists, people with gifts of service and helps, etc., intentionally collaborated to serve the community.
Petition
Pray that our hearts would be shifted from self-preservation to self-emptying (like Jesus). Pray that we would see Jesus as more beautiful than anything we think is precious. Pray that our priorities, time, finances and hearts would reflect Christ more closely.
Intercession
The community’s apathy towards Jesus and the church—even offence over what they think we represent—keeps many from considering Christ. Pray that they would have “eyes to see” and “ears to hear.” Pray for revival in Vancouver and its surrounding areas that will include God’s miraculous healing of those bound by opiate addiction.

Passage
Isaiah 51-53
Reflect
There is both “bad news” and “good news” in this passage. What is the bad news and the reason for it? What foreshadowing of “good news” do you see?
