As I reflect on the One Army Territorial Congress, with thanks to God, I declare the effort to be an overwhelming success. I quickly add the phrase, “God is faithful.” In my thinking, 2 Chronicles 14:7 became the banner for Congress: “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” God has heard our prayer and has responded with his hand of blessing.
It is notable that, from every source, praise and honour are being extended to God for the privilege of gathering and the rich blessings received. Thousands across our territory are committed to:
- Partnership in ONE ARMY marked by holiness
- Participation in ONE MISSION motivated by love
- Proclamation of ONE MESSAGE manifested by grace
Our future is in God's hands and with his hand upon us we will engage in mission, moving from strength to strength in his name.
Thank you for your response to the call to end world hunger. In addition to the territory's pledge of $100,000, delegates at Congress gave $45,000, and there is more to come.
Please continue to enjoy the blessing. Write about it on Facebook and Twitter and use the hashtag #OneArmy so we can encourage one another.
Rosalie and I rejoice in the bright future of The Salvation Army in the Canada and Bermuda Territory. May God bless and use you in his mission through the Army.
Commissioner Brian Peddle
