With the endorsement of Commissioners Lee and Debbie Graves, territorial leaders, 25 individuals and groups across the territory have received the Others Award, which recognizes those who lead by example, who display a selfless and sustained dedication to serving others and who have made a notable and enduring contribution to the mission and work of The Salvation Army.
The award is inspired by a telegram sent on Christmas Eve in 1910 by General William Booth to all Salvation Army officers around the world. It contained a single word that spoke volumes: OTHERS. This simple message was a powerful call to action for officers, commissioning them to put others first with every thought, every step and every prayer.
This award has been presented to deserving recipients who personify the spirit of “OTHERS” as envisioned by General Booth, demonstrating humility, compassion and a legacy of lasting impact.
