A territorial congress is a gathering of Salvationists and friends of the Army from all over the territory to worship, fellowship, engage in mission and service, as well as seek God’s plan for their lives. The best analogy is that of a FUSE or Youth Councils event; if you enjoy going to FUSE you will enjoy attending the Youth Congress. However, the congress will be more than simply a territorial FUSE event; in both scale and impact the congress will be much bigger.
What are the ages of the delegates?
Delegates must be 13 by December 31, 2020. There is no maximum age as there will be sessions geared towards both youth and youth workers (i.e. Corps Officers, YPSMs, Youth Directors, Volunteers, etc.).
Is there a maximum number of delegates?
At this time we do not have a limit on the number of delegates who can attend the congress.
Do delegates need to be selected to attend?
This congress is open to any person of the appropriate age. There is no selection process. Though it is not required we do recommend that you inform your Corps Officer if you have registered or plan to attend.
Select the “VOIT/SEE Registration”. Once you have registered you can select your accommodation and meal plans.
How does rooming work?
Delegates can choose to stay at the reserved hotel for the congress or locate their own accommodations. If you are staying at the reserved hotel there are rooms for double, triple or quadruple occupancy. This can be chosen when registering for the conference.
It is important to note that the price on the website is per person, meaning that each person staying in that room must pay the listed fee. For example, if you have a group of four teenaged boys attending, you cannot simply choose to pay for one quad occupancy room; each of the four boys must pay the quad room fee.
When choosing a room, please feel free to suggest who you would like to share a room with. Rooming for groups will be organized at the local corps level. Any requests to room with someone not from your home corps should also be organized between local leaders from those corps.
How do we pay?
There are two ways in which payments will be handled:
1. PAY ONLINE WHEN YOU REGISTER. When you check out after registering and choosing an accommodation or meal package option you will be able to pay using a credit card.
2. PAY OFFLINE THROUGH INTERNAL TRANSFER. When you check out you will also see an option to pay “offline.” This option will allow you to complete your registration without making payment and is meant for Corps groups only. Individuals should not use this option* unless they have been instructed to do so by their Corps Officer or youth leader.
*Individuals who choose this option without Corps Officer endorsement will have 30 days to make payment. Outstanding accounts will have their registration cancelled.
Who will be speaking?
We are excited to be having a variety of speakers as both breakout and main session speakers. A full roster of speakers and guests will be announced in the coming weeks.
What kind of music will there be?
There will be various styles of music and musicians, through all kinds of genres (brass, worship, techno, choruses). There will also be an opportunity for delegates to audition to be part of the worship team for the congress.
What will be happening?
The congress will feature Bible teaching, worship, fellowship, and mission opportunities. There will be breakout sessions for both youth and youth workers, and late night entertainment each evening. In addition to teaching there will be opportunities to engage in mission through various avenues.
Can I cancel my registration if something comes up?
Cancellation and refund of funds paid to THQ is possible until April 17, 2020. After that date no refunds will be issued except for family or medical emergencies.
