Earlier this fall the Integrated Mission Department had the opportunity to present during the Maritime Leader’s Summit.
Aligning with the strategic priorities set out by divisional leadership, Major Corey Vincent, divisional integrated mission champion, and Claire Dunmore, territorial integrated mission secretary, delivered a workshop to over 60 officers and lay leaders. The presentation focused on meeting the mission of The Salvation Army through building relationships with our neighbours and venturing outside our buildings.
During a time of reflection leaders from across the division shared with the group what integrated mission meant to them...
- to see change
- impact social justice
- it was not transactional
- it connected corps ministries to community family services
- it was a call to take action
- that it’s not just about what happens on a Sunday
Through intentional work in the community, nurturing belonging and connectedness, the Maritime Division is seeking "to have the voice of each community” be at the centre of the story of every ministry.
