Advanced Leadership Certification

The Certificate in Advanced Leadership (ALC) is designed for those currently in leadership positions in The Salvation Army. This program will help leaders develop the next phase of their leadership capabilities through a combination of hands-on experience and applied learning activities. Participants will be encouraged to think outside the box and analyse what good leadership looks like in the complexities of the 21st century. Modules focus on developing personal mastery, relational capacities and the mindsets necessary to achieve excellence in one’s communities and ministries.

This program is offered in a cohort structure. It includes online modules, video conferencing and one intensive week at Booth University College. It takes one academic year to complete.

Participants will complete modules that address practical leadership skills in the workplace. These modules will guide participants through interactive and experiential approaches to building strong relationships within their organizations. Participants will understand and fine-tune the practical skills and capacities to act effectively in the face of today’s complex work environments.

The modules cover, but are not limited to, the following topics:

  • Personal Foundations of Successful Leadership,
  • Building Collaborative Teams for High Impact,
  • Creating Organizational Coherence in the Midst of Change,
  • Catalyzing Action in Complex Systems,
  • Leadership in Action.
