Dr. Kerr has a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Waterloo. She is a registered psychologist in Ontario, a certified executive coach and holds membership in several professional associations, including service as a past Chair of the Canadian Society for Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Previously, Dr. Kerr has taught undergraduate and graduate courses on a contract basis at the University of Waterloo, the University of Guelph and Tyndale Seminary.
Over the past 25 years Dr. Kerr's experience has included both internal and external consulting roles focused on the identification and development of talent in both the public and private sectors. She has extensive experience providing end-to-end assessment and development services from needs assessment and job analysis to executive assessments for selection and development, and strategic talent management planning. She has managed several global projects and is an experienced facilitator and speaker at workshops and conferences. In her most recent employment, Dr. Kerr has been the Head of Consulting for Development Dimensions International in the United Kingdom. In this capacity she continued to provide consulting services as well as leading a team of consultants and fulfilling responsibilities as a member of the UK management team.
A lifelong member of The Salvation Army, Dr. Kerr has been involved in leadership at the congregational level for many years. From 2001-2007, Dr. Kerr was a member of the Board of Trustees of Booth University College, serving as Chair of the Board from 2004 to 2007. She has also served on territorial committees and task forces.
In her role as Vice President Academic and Dean, Dr. Kerr will provide leadership for the academic programs of Booth University College. Her appointment coincides with several new program initiatives which will be launched by Booth in the next two years.
