“We rejoice that God has called you, has equipped you and gifted you for sacred service,” declared Commissioners Floyd and Tracey Tidd, territorial commander and territorial president of women’s ministries, as they ordained and commissioned the Messengers of the Kingdom Session on June 20. With travel and social-gathering restrictions in place due to COVID-19, the livestreamed event took place across two time zones and two provinces.

"We pray for refugees around the world, and ask that you would hide those whose enemies seek to harm them..." Commissioners Floyd and Tracey Tidd, territorial leaders, join in the prayer for World Refugee Day on June 20.

Today, the Rogers family donated $10 million to The Salvation Army to help support Canadians affected by COVID-19. It is the largest private donation the charity has received in its more than 135 years of giving hope to those in need across Canada.

With 6.3 million coronavirus cases confirmed by the World Health Organization, the pandemic remains a global crisis. In total, The Salvation army's response now extends to 120 countries worldwide.

On May 23, the Canada Bermuda Youth team hosted the largest online youth meeting in the territory’s history. Dubbed VOIT/SEE CONNECT, the Facebook Live/YouTube event marked the weekend that the territorial youth congress, VOIT/SEE, was to be held in Montreal until COVID-19 forced a postponement to spring 2021. More than 500 young people and youth leaders gathered online for teaching, games, music and fun.

The Salvation Army will participate in an online ecumenical Pentecost prayer service, hosted by the Canadian Council of Churches, on May 30 at 3 p.m. (EDT).
