In our first-ever pop culture episode, the Salvationist podcast welcomes Dr. Mandy Elliott, a professor of English and film studies at The Salvation Army’s Booth University College in Winnipeg, to talk about two fascinating pieces of pop culture that came out this year—a book called Yesteryear and a new Netflix adaptation of Little House on the Prairie.

Join us for a spoiler-free discussion of the book and TV series, as we look at some of the key themes they explore—from our complicated relationship with social media and influencers; to the roles women are expected to play, both now and in the past; and what we can learn from how the book and the show portray Christianity.
