While the end of summer is upon us, the days are still long and maybe the kids are getting a little restless. Did you know your local Salvation Army thrift store has clothes, shoes, books and toys for kids of all ages? It’s a great place to refresh your child’s wardrobe or find a few fun items to keep them busy. Here are just four examples.

Caterpillar Bowling This one was a hit with our two-year-olds. They loved setting up the pins and trying to knock them down.

Books All the books I thrifted were like new and we’ve got a lot of use out of them. It’s an affordable way to update your little ones’ library.

Shoes What kid doesn’t love sparkly shoes? These were a big hit in our house and, at $3.99, an absolute bargain.

Dresses I was lucky enough to thrift a few wonderful summer dresses. This one has been a favourite.

Whenever my kids hit a growth spurt or are not interested in their toys anymore, I take a big donation bag to my local Salvation Army thrift store. I also bring a list of what we need and search for new pieces! It’s a great way to keep the cost and clutter down.
