General Lyndon Buckingham is calling all Salvationists and mission partners throughout the world to pray for peace in Israel, Gaza and the many other places in the world where there is strife and war.

We particularly think of, and pray for, the innocent people who are caught up in the conflict–sometimes experiencing injury or even losing their lives. As the Psalmist says, “Let there be peace on the mountains and goodness on the hills for the people” (Psalm 72:3 NCV).

In response to the General’s call, Commissioner Lee Graves, territorial commander, is encouraging all corps and ministry units to set aside time on Sunday, October 22, to pray specifically for peace.

Commissioner Graves offers up this prayer for the people of Israel, Gaza and other war-torn regions:

Prayer for Peace for Israel and Gaza

God of love and Prince of Peace,
We pray for an end to the conflict in the Holy Land,
That all who dwell there would see an end to their suffering.
O Lord, in your mercy, 
Guide them into the path of peace.
Comfort the brokenhearted,
Bring healing to those in pain,
And give hope to those in despair.

We cry to you, Lord of all creation,
Praying that your will be done on earth as it is in heaven,
For you are good and love all humankind.

Amen.

Appel du général aux salutistes du monde entier : Priez pour la paix.

Le général Lyndon Buckingham appelle tous les salutistes et partenaires de mission à prier pour la paix en Israël, à Gaza et dans les nombreuses autres régions du monde en proie aux dissentions et à la guerre.

Nous avons particulièrement en tête les victimes innocentes du conflit israélo-palestinien, celles qui ont été blessées ou qui ont perdu la vie. « Les montagnes porteront la paix pour le peuple, et les collines aussi, par l’effet de ta justice », déclarait le psalmiste. (Psaumes 72:3 LSG)

En réponse à l’appel du général, le commissaire Lee Graves, chef de territoire, invite les postes et les entités à faire une pause, ce dimanche 22 octobre, et à prier particulièrement pour la paix.

Le commissaire Graves offre la prière suivante pour les habitants d’Israël et de Gaza et d’autres régions déchirées par la guerre :

Prière pour la paix en Israël et à Gaza

Dieu d’amour et Prince de la paix,
Nous te prions de mettre fin au conflit qui règne en Terre sainte,
Afin de soulager ses habitants de leurs souffrances.
Seigneur miséricordieux,
Guide-les vers la voie de la paix.
Réconforte les cœurs brisés,
Apporte la guérison aux affligés,
Et l’espoir à ceux qui l’ont perdu.

Nous t’implorons, Seigneur de la Création,
Et prions pour que ta volonté soit faite sur la terre comme au ciel,
Car tu es bon et aimes l’humanité.
