We are happy to announce that the team from Vernon Community Church will join us to discuss their successes and challenges related to POH and their future plans with the framework. At the end of the session, attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and share knowledge. Vernon Community Church has implemented Pathway of Hope (POH) since 2020. During this time, the team has received the POH Best Practice Ministry Unit (BPMU) award on three separate occasions and continues to demonstrate strong ownership of POH.

We are happy to announce that Dr. Vidoll Regisford will be presenting on the topic of "Integrating and Embedding Anti-Black Racism Practice, Concepts & Ideas into the Pathway of Hope Framework" During this session, we will discuss how to effectively integrate anti-oppression and anti-black racism concepts into organizational strategies, policies, and practices, as well as explore approaches for fostering healing, reconciliation, and growth.

We are pleased to announce that Captain Crystal Porter, the Territorial Indigenous Ministries Consultant will be presenting and sharing her knowledge and expertise surrounding Indigenous Spiritualities and the Church. During this session we will learn about the impact of Christianity on Indigenous peoples and the effects it has had on the body of Christ. Using Acts 15 and 1 Corinthians 12 we will talk about the mission of the church and discussion how culture and faith can work together.

We are happy to announce that Will MacLaughlin from Christians Against Poverty Canada will be presenting on the topic of " Budget Empowerment and CAP Money Introduction". Will began his career as a Teacher, specializing in History, Politics, English, and Religious Studies. Later, he became a Community Pastor in Northern Ireland. In 2013, he moved to Canada as a member of the team that established Christians Against Poverty.

We are happy to announce that Kathe Rogers and Kamau Davis-Locke from YouthREX will be presenting on the topic of Trauma-Informed Youth Work. During this session, we will discuss how we can reimagine our approach towards working with young people and their communities. We will shift from a trauma-informed approach that solely focuses on individual harm and injury to a healing-centered practice that fosters possibility and advances collective well-being.

Sheila is a Provincial Prevention Consultant with Elder Abuse Prevention Ontario. She is a Gerontologist who has developed, facilitated and evaluated health promotion initiatives for over 25 years.

Angelica has over 12 years of experience working with newcomers providing information and resources on how to navigate the system and successfully adapt to Canadian society.
Abdul Gilzay - September 27, 2022
This month we are pleased to announce that Abdul Gilzay (Ph.D. (Candidate), CCAC, MA, MSW, RSW) will be presenting. He is a lecturer at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), teaching in the department of Community and Social Services for over 13 years, and has received education in both India and Canada. He worked with the City of Toronto (Community and Social Services) for over 17 years. In addition to over 12 years of experience in the field of Addiction Services and 17 years of experience as a Social Caseworker with the City of Toronto. He will present on Conflict Resolution.

This month our session focuses on How to help clients become resilient, and we are pleased to have Katie Copeskey, joining us to present. Katie currently holds a Research Coordinator position with RTI International, she is also a Performance Coach for Valor Performance. Katie has volunteered as a Crisis Counselor with Crisis Text Line, been a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters, and currently gives time to the local food bank.
