How to be intentional in your ministry to men.

MEN'S DISCIPLESHIP COHORT If you have any concern about the spiritual well being of men – this Leadership Cohort is for you! If you are tired of the same old approach to men’s ministry – this Leadership Cohort is for you! The world is talking about toxic masculinity, but there is no vision in our culture for healthy masculinity. Imagine if we could build up men so they are bringing greater life to their marriage, family, community, and church. Our special guest facilitator for this cohort will be Kirk Giles – President of Promise Keepers Canada. For over 20 years, Kirk has been on the front lines of the discipleship of men across Canada. Promise Keepers Canada is a national ministry with a mission to ignite and equip men to have a godly impact. At the end of the Cohort, you will have the opportunity to access a free one hour coaching session to asses your men and church. Ongoing coaching will be available for a fee.

Who are the Presenters? Kirk Giles, President of Promise Keepers
As a member of the Promise Keepers Canada team for over 20 Kirk Giles Kirk Giles, President of Promise Keepers Canada[/caption] years, Kirk Giles has become one of Canada’s leading Christian voices on the challenges and opportunities men face. He is a leader, teacher, and a man with vision for the importance of building God’s Kingdom. His two greatest desires in ministry is to see men walk with Jesus, and to see the local church be everything Jesus dreamed it to be. Under Kirk’s leadership, the ministry of Promise Keepers Canada has continued to evolve in strengthening tens of thousands of men through electronic, print, and live events that ignite and equip men to have a godly impact, and through initiatives like The Fatherless Project which trains and connects men to mentor children and youth from father absent families. Kirk is the developer of Blueprint—a framework for the discipleship of men in the local church, and the author of The King’s Men small group studies focused on the seven promises of a promise keeper. In addition to his role at Promise Keepers Canada, Kirk has been actively involved in his community as a baseball coach. His greatest joy in life is his family. Kirk is married to Shannon and they have four children.

Why a Learning Cohort?
Reflection on God’s mission and how it finds expression in our leadership is important. We can increase our learning by hearing and reflecting on the experience of others. The time commitments are intentionally brief, however having several other people to share in the journey over a five week period provides support, encouragement and peer accountability in the process.

What will it Cost to Participate in this Cohort?
The cost of the presenters, resources, mentoring appointments and administration is being covered by the Corps Ministries Department (Promise Keepers) at Territorial Headquarters.  There is no cost to you or your ministry unit.

How does Mentorship contribute to the Experience?
A mentor appointment from Promise Keepers ministry (by telephone) after the video conference provides an opportunity to personally work through the issues facing you with regards to your particular context. Mentors have been trained to ask good questions, understand confidentiality and are aware of congregational life issues.
