International Day of Prayer for Victims of Human Trafficking 2025

The Salvation Army is deeply committed to fighting and responding to modern slavery and human trafficking (MSHT). We have a theological and historical mandate. We believe prayer is foundational and an essential, powerful tool to fight for freedom and work towards a world free from exploitation.

We would like to invite all Salvation Army ministry units in Canada and Bermuda to give attention to Sunday, September 28, 2025, as the International Day of Prayer for Victims of Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking.

This year's theme is "Light to Life," inspired by Exodus 3:2: ''There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up."

To help plan your personal or corps participation in the International Day of Prayer, you can find resources on the

A Message from the General

“In the same way that God spoke to Moses in the burning bush of his desire that his people held in slavery should be set free, so in Christ God reveals that all people are of worth and value and should experience freedom in all its forms. Physical, emotional and spiritual. I ask you to join with me in prayers for those held captive as a result of the evils of human trafficking.”
