How to Start-Up a Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Response Program at the Local Level - Part 1

Have you ever wondered how to start up an anti-trafficking initiative in a local setting? Have you ever been asked to give direction and insight on how to do this?  Join us for a two part series that will provide practical instruction and teaching to participants on how to start up an modern slavery and human trafficking response program in a local context.

Session One will focus on developing skills necessary for starting up an anti-trafficking local initiative. Focus will be placed on getting to know local environments, the context of the issues, and responders. Participants will learn how to engage in an environmental analysis using the PESTLE framework as well as how to map current responses and carry out a desk review of existing research and resources.

As a two part series, it is strongly recommended that participants sign up and attend both sessions.

Helen Sworn

Helen has been working in the field of counter human trafficking and exploitation since 1999. She founded the Chab Dai Coalition in 2005 in Cambodia where she led its strategic and organic growth to include the development of projects focused on movement building, systems strengthening, community empowerment and survivor restoration. In addition, Helen has developed the Global Learning Community Project that works with over 170 anti-trafficking stakeholders from more than 39 countries in order to strengthen and foster a comprehensive, connected and competent anti-trafficking movement. Helen holds a Masters degree from York St John University in Global Leadership, Innovation, and Change.
